One summer while I was at Girl’s Camp (religious summer camp for girls age 12-17), our theme was entitled “All Path’s Lead Home”. I had trouble understanding that “all paths” lead back home to our Heavenly Father. How could any direction I take in life possibly lead me back to Heaven? What if I pushed God away? How would that path lead me back to Him?
As I’ve experienced more life, I have come to realize that “all paths” we take in life, can and will lead us back to our Father in Heaven if we are willing to accept Him and his teachings.
I love that on a daily basis, I have the opportunity to make an inventory of what I am doing right that is bringing me closer to God and what I need to change.
Whatever path we are on at this very moment, be it good or bad, difficult or easy, pain filled or blissful, God is there with us. He is ready to help us change. He is there experiencing our pain and sorrow. He is by our side cheering us on.
Jeffery R. Holland stated it perfectly in his book “Trusting Jesus”, he says, “Everything in the gospel teaches us that we can change if we need to, that we can be helped if we truly want it, that we can be made whole, whatever the problems of the past”.
I know that All Paths do Lead Home and that our Heavenly Father wants nothing more than for his children to make it back safely in his arms.
